The electric tailgate wiring harness is the core component for achieving automatic opening and closing of the tailgate as well as for safety control. It is responsible for power distribution, signal transmission and data communication.
The wiring harness is mainly composed of power lines, signal lines and grounding lines. It usually contains multiple wires of different specifications. For example, the original factory electric tailgate switch may include yellow-green wires (ground wire), white wires (power positive wire) and brown-gray wires (positive wire of indicator light). While the added system may need to connect more lines to meet the functional requirements.
The wiring harness needs to handle a high power output. Some of the original factory circuits use wires with an area of 3 square millimeters to ensure stable current.
